The nonpartisan research group Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote) holds a virtual press conference to report on the increase in Asian/Pacific Islander voter turnout in the 2020 election, with particular attention to the critical role of women organizers and community messengers to mobilization efforts nationwide and especially in key battleground states. Data provided by the U.S. Census shows that turnout increased significant among all Asian/Pacific Islander voters between 2016 and 2020, with the jump greater among Asian/Pacific Islander women than men.
