In an interview with MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, Klobuchar says: “After what I’ve seen in my state, what I’ve seen across the country, this is a historic moment and America must seize on this moment. I truly believe, as I actually told the vice president last night when I called him, that I think this is a moment to put a woman of color on that ticket.” She reiterates this with CBS News, adding: “I think it is something that would really take what has been a tragedy, but also a galvanizing moment and turn it into a moment of joy. And I think our country is looking for that right now.”
