“Is there anything you could have done to get the kind of coverage that Kamala Harris is getting now?” Carlson asked.
Palin replied, “I would not have prostituted myself in terms of changing any of my positions in order to garner better press.” https://t.co/6znKQIohbS

In an interview with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson, Carlson asks former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin if there was anything she could have done in 2008 to receive the positive news coverage that they argue Harris is receiving. Palin responds, “I would not have prostituted myself in terms of changing any of my positions in order to garner better press,” implying that Harris is taking on policy positions to earn positive coverage. She appears to reference a false report that Harris has threatened to send policy to individual homes to confiscate firearms. Whether intentional or not, this characterization and this language plays into tropes that Black women use sexual power to manipulate and deceive.
