When I was 22 and finishing my first year of teaching, I had an experience millions of women will recognize. By June I was visibly pregnant—and the principal told me the job I'd already been promised for the next year would go to someone else.

Warren has shared her personal story of pregnancy discrimination on the campaign trail and on the presidential debate stage. But conservative media outlet the Washington Free Beacon published a story challenging the veracity of Warren’s experience. While the article could not disprove Warren’s account, the doubts it raised were taken up by Republican opponents, including the Republican National Committee, to paint Warren as dishonest. In response, Warren has not only doubled down on her own story, but has called on women to share their own experiences with pregnancy discrimination online. Many responded, including those cited in this Huffington Post story.
