When I was 22 and finishing my first year of teaching, I had an experience millions of women will recognize. By June I was visibly pregnant—and the principal told me the job I’d already been promised for the next year would go to someone else.

Conservative media outlet the Washington Free Beacon publishes a story challenging the veracity of Warren’s experience of pregnancy discrimination, which she has shared on the campaign trail. While the article cannot disprove Warren’s account, the doubts it raises are taken up by Republican opponents, including the Republican National Committee, to paint Warren as dishonest. In response, Warren not only doubles down on her own story, but has called on women to share their own experiences with pregnancy discrimination online. Many respond, including those cited in this Huffington Post story.
