July 11, 2019 - Trump Attacks Biden, Warren, and Buttigieg

In a July 11, 2019 tweet, Trump asks, “Could you imagine having Sleepy Joe Biden, or Alfred E. Newman [referring to Buttigieg] or a very nervous and skinny version of Pocahontas (1000/24th) [referring to Warren], as your President, rather than what you have now, so great looking and smart, a true Stable Genius!” In this attack, Trump attempts to emasculate Biden and invokes gendered tropes of women (weak and nervous) to discredit them, while attempting to reinforce both his intelligence and masculinity. His continued reference to Warren as Pocahontas was also challenged by many as racist.
