July 1, 2019 - Women Presidential Candidates Featured in Vogue

In its July 2019 issue, Vogue profiled five of the women running for the Democratic presidential nomination in a story titled, “Madam President? Five Candidates on What It Will Take to Shatter the Most Stubborn Glass Ceiling.” The article is accompanied by photos of the women together, taken by Annie Liebowitz. In the text, many of the women candidates discuss the role of gender in the presidential election and/or in their own candidacy. One woman candidate – Marianne Williamson – was not included in the story. She later told The New York Times that she heard she was not included because she was “not on anyone’s radar” when the article was planned in March 2019.
